About EK Geotechnical Survey LLC (EKGS)
The geotechnical survey vessel EK HAYATE, owned by EK Geotechnical Survey LLC, entered into service under Japanese flag, capable of providing offshore drilling, sampling and in-situ testing.
By coupling the Japanese vessel operational expertise of “K” Line Group and the international offshore geo-survey expertise of EGS, EK Geotechnical Survey LLC and EK HAYATE provides offshore survey services to meet growing demand in Japan and regional sustained energy markets.

EGS Group is an experienced offshore geo-survey company. Consistent high-quality deliverables have enabled EGS to secure a market leader position in the telecommunication cable route survey sector and to expand into the offshore wind sector.
In addition to international track records, EGS Survey has a 20-years track record of telecommunication cable route survey in Japanese coastal waters.
- In 1974 EGS Group was founded
- 50 years of geo-survey expertise
- 15 offices around the world
- 7 survey vessels in operation
- High-quality, trusted survey data
